Delma Louise Zacek
Delma Louise Zacek, age 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully at home, April 2, 2013, with her loving husband, of 70 years, Peter, by her side.
She was born February 1, 1922, in Whitewater, Missouri, a daughter of William and Edith Thiel Baker. Delma was united in marriage to Peter P. Zacek, on August 1, 1942, in St. Ann’s Church, Hinckley, NY. She was employed at Marcy Psychiatric Center, retiring after many years of service.
Delma was an avid walker and also enjoyed cooking and entertaining her loving family.
Delma is survived by her loving husband, Peter; sons, Brad Zacek of Rome, and George and Mary Zacek of Prospect; a sister, Charlisse (Kitten) White of Illinois; a brother, Emmett Baker of Missouri; and 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons, Dennis, Peter and Ronald Zacek.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 12:30 PM at Redeeming Love Fellowship, 9011 State Route 365, Stittville, NY. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the Central Association for the Blind.
The family is very thankful for the love and compassion from all the caregivers that were there throughout Delma’s long illness.
