Bertha S. Anno, age 90, of Rome, passed away peacefully May 1, 2015, with her family by her side.
She was born September 8, 1924, in Rome a daughter of the late Albert and Stella Hudzik Niedzielski, and educated in Rome schools. Bertha was united in marriage to Anthony Anno on October 1, 1949 in Taberg; he died January 3, 1992. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration.
Bertha was truly a family person who loved spending time in her garden in the summer, and baking Christmas cookies for the family at Christmas. She also had a good and kind heart and always was willing to help or care for anyone at any time.
Bertha is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Shirley and John Boyea of Rome, and Sandra Thomas of Lee Center; two sons and a daughter in law, Randall and Sharon Anno of Pittsburgh, PA, and Robert Anno of Rome; grandchildren, Eric and Adam Anderson, Ashlee and Aimee Anno, and Jenna and Amanda Anno; great grandchildren, Katie, Julie, Sophie, Helen, Olivia, Charlotte, Madeline and Sarena; a great great grandson, Noah., and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Anno, a son in law, Timothy Thomas, and several sisters and brothers.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery
