Dorothy M. Nestle, age 67, of Westernville, passed away peacefully, September 16, 2015, at her home.
She was born May 30, 1948, in Blossvale, a daughter of the late Theodore and Charlotte Fiedler, and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1966. Dorothy was united in marriage to John F. Nestle, on June 22, 1968, in St Peter Lutheran Church in Churchville. She was employed at Rome Memorial Hospital and retired in 1995, after many years of service.
Dorothy’s life truly revolved around her family. She loved entertaining her family from the Christmas holidays through the summer bar-b-ques, and took special delight in her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was a proud breast cancer survivor and an avid reader who always had her “Kindle” at her side.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Ann Goff and fiance, Doug Hughes of North Western, and Sandra and Kenneth Witek of Westernville; a son, John E. and Stephanie Nestle of Westernville; sisters, Barbara Cristman of Mohawk, Linda Givens of Ilion, and Amy and Rubben Harvey of Florida; a brother, Robert and Judy Fiedler of Ohio; grandchildren, Melissa Witek and Kenneth Witek II; a great granddaughter, Leah Witek; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Waterman.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM, at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Westernville Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Saturday 1 to 3 PM, prior to the funeral service.
