Obituary for Bradley A. Ruble Sr.

Bradley A. Ruble, Sr., age 62, of Westmoreland, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare.

Brad was born in Rome on June 30, 1954 to Richard and Lillian Burk Ruble. He graduated from Westmoreland High School and in 1973 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1977. On July 25, 1975 while stationed in Germany, he was united in marriage to the former Victoria Hayes. Brad retired from the Oneida County Sheriff’s office after protecting and serving his community for many years.

Brad was a lifetime member of the Stanwix Heights Volunteer Fire Department and was a dedicated bowler.

Brad is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Vickie; his mother, Lillian Burk Ruble Rundle; a son, Brad Jr. of Rome; three daughters and a son in law, Crystal and DeForest Hinman of Mechanicville, NY, Coral Ruble of Whitesboro, and Corinne Hence of Rome; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Austin, Adeline, Elizabeth, Beatrix, Moses, Crysta, and Gabriel; four brothers and sisters in law, Bill and Wanda Rundle, Mark and Karen Rundle, Randy Rundle and family, and Kevin Rundle and Shelia Frazier; his half brothers, Richard and Jason Ruble; his foster sisters, Jane White and Leola Kirk; a former sister in law, April Rundle; special lifelong friends, Jimmy, Bobby and Uncle Norm; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and also by his loving step father, Calvin C. Rundle.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stanwix Heights Volunteer Fire Dept., the Rome Rescue Mission, or YABA.
