Arlene S. Darrow

Arlene S. Darrow, age 97, of Rome, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2017, at Rome Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 18, 1919, in Rome, a daughter of the late Frank and Amelia Kirk Amann. Arlene was united in marriage to George R. Darrow on February 7, 1948, in Rome; he died on September 4, 2002. She was a school crossing guard for the Rome City School District, retiring after seventeen years of service. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church and former member of the Queen Ester Rebecca Lodge #71.

Arlene is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Joyce and Stephen Jeffries of Greenfield, IN, and Jean Magliocca and her fiancé, Brian Daprix of Utica; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Mae Fuller, a brother, Edwin Amann, and a sister in law and brother in law, Ann and Arnold Younglove.

A graveside service will be held at Rome Cemetery on Saturday at 11:30 AM.
