Harold E. Hostetter, age 88, of the Town of Floyd, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2017.
He was born March 31, 1929, in Annville, PA., a son of the late Clarence and Leah Etter Hostetter. Harold was united in marriage to the former Kathryn “Kassie” Krebs, on January 24, 1953; she died November 27, 1989. He was a logistics expert for the U.S. government working at Griffiss Air Force Base and retiring at Tinker Air Force Base, after many years of service. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a former member of the Stittville Methodist Church and Stittville Fire Department.
Harold was an avid golfer and expert custom gun maker. He also was a proud member of the “Sea Going Cowboys” who transported horses from America to Poland, with Heifer International, following World War II.
Harold is survived by three daughters and two sons in law, Roxanne and Cecil Frymire of Oklahoma City, OK, Karen Schwallie of Bellingham, WA, and Paula and Darren Wheeler of Oklahoma City, OK; a sister, Sarah Clemson of Alaska; grandchildren, William and Andrea Frymire, Shawn and DeAnna Frymire, Leah Schwallie, Justin and Kirbie Wheeler and Jared Wheeler; and great grandchildren, Riley, Natalie and Jude.
The funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 12 Noon, at Barry Funeral Home, 807 West Chestnut Street.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Monday 11 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the funeral service.
