Obituary for Daniel Brian "Dan" Schoff

Daniel B. Schoff, age 50, of the Town of Lee, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2018 at his home.

Dan was born in Rome on January 17, 1968 to Herman and Madeline Denslow Schoff. Growing up, Dan worked on the family dairy farm in West Leyden. He graduated from Adirondack High School in 1986. Shortly after graduation, Dan began his career as a machinist at Bartell Machinery where he was employed for over 30 years. He became an elite machinist, a position he currently held. He was a very meticulous person who took tremendous pride in his work and also in maintaining the family homestead on the Fish Creek Road in West Leyden. Dan was a die-hard New York Rangers hockey fan and a great supporter of the military and law enforcement. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, farming, and spending time on the Schoff homestead.

Dan is survived by his mother, Madeline; two sisters and brothers in law, Audrey and Dale Ringrose of Rochester, and Deborah and Richard Wagner of Lee Center; three brothers and sisters in law, Michael and Dorothy Schoff of West Leyden, Ed and Patty Schoff of Rome, and Mark and Dawn Schoff of Ava; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Herman.

Dan's funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, West Leyden, in the spring.

Relatives and Friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
