Michalena M. Thompson, age 84, of Rome, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018, with her loving family at her side.
She was born July 13, 1933, in Rome a daughter of the late Nicasio and Marie A. Doria Montalbano. Michalena was united in marriage to Milton J. Thompson, Jr., on November 22, 1952, in the Church of St. John the Baptist; he died October 30, 2010. She was a member of the Church of St. John the Baptist, Glendale Manor Garden Club, Civilian Wife’s Club at the former GAFB, a former member of St. Luke’s Church in Phoenix, AZ and the St. Luke’s Church Altar-Rosary Society and Women’s Guild.
Michalena is survived by three daughters and sons in law, Kathleen and Rex Redden of Rome, Denise and Jesse Armstrong of Montgomery, TX, and Julie and Dan Harmon of Phoenix, AZ; a son and daughter in law, Milton J. III and Michelle Thompson of Portland, OR; a sister and brother in law, Mary Jane and George Hendrickson of Rome; three brothers and two sisters in law, Philip and Judy Montalbano of Rome, Nicholas and LaVerne Montalbano of Croghan, and Rick Montalbano of Rome; grandchildren, Jennifer, Luke, Matt and Kate, Emily and Eric, Liz and Mat, Kate and Max; great grandchildren, Tyler, Lilly, Dominick and Linc. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Montalbano; a grandson, Jamie; and a sister in law, Jill Montalbano.
A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio, will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. John the Baptist.
