Obituary for Linda D. Siegfried (Quackenbush)

Linda D. Siegfried (Quackenbush)
Linda D. (Quackenbush) Siegfried, 63, of Stittville, NY passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2018 with her husband and children by her side.

Born on March 3, 1955 to Patricia and Robert Quackenbush, Linda graduated from Whitesboro Central Schools and received her degree in Business Administration from Utica School of Commerce. At one time, she was married to Salvatore J. Perritano, Jr, and from that union came her two children, Amy (Perritano) Eddy and Salvatore G. Perritano. She later married Bruce Siegfried with whom she shared a blessed union of over 22 years.

Linda’s greatest joy was her only grandson, Joseph Eddy. Linda loved children in general. Most recently, she was thrilled to have the opportunity to work as a “volunteer grandmother” at Headstart in Utica. She also was active with the children in her church and was proud to travel to Peru twice to help build a home for orphaned children. She was a generous spirit who touched a lot of lives, and her presence will be missed by many.

Aside from her husband, children, and grandson, Linda leaves behind a nephew, Brandon Siegfried, whom she and Bruce raised as their own from a young age. Also surviving are son-in-law, Steven Eddy, two sisters, Barbara Tine and Nancy, two brothers, Robert and John Quackenbush, bother-in law Ken, sister-in-law Dawn, and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many, many friends, especially her church family, and her two beloved dogs, Jasper and Jake. She was predeceased by her mother, her godson/nephew, Christopher Tine, and a sister-in-law, Sue Delahunt.

Linda’s funeral will be held on Thursday (today) at 6 PM at the Mohawk Valley Church (formerly the First Assembly of God Church), 9427 Maynard Dr., Marcy. Burial will be private.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 PM at the church prior to the funeral.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” --John 3:16
