Obituary for Albert C. Tomasi

Albert C. Tomasi, age 82, of Stockbridge, GA and formerly of Lee Center, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2018 with his family by his side.

Al was born in Elmira, NY on February 17, 1936 to the late Albert and Alice Anken Tomasi, and was educated in the Oriskany Schools. He was united in marriage to the former Joyce Bachmann at St. John's Lutheran Church in 1957.

Al had many hobbies, going to car shows with his ’34 Chevy and raising cows on his gentleman’s farm. He was an avid NASCAR fan and also drove stock cars himself. He worked for few companies including LaBarge Bros., H. Waterbury and Sons, and partnership with Goetz Trucking and his cousin with Maple Lane Farms. He served on the Board of Directors at Evergreen Cemetery for many years and was also a member of IUOE Local 545. He loved spending winters in Florida with his wife, Joyce and two cherished granddaughters.

Al is survived by his loving wife Joyce; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Karen Tomasi of McDonough, GA, and Timothy Tomasi of Lee Center; two granddaughters, Alexandria and Samantha; a sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Alexander Cannella of Westford, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a brother, Kenneth Tomasi.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 to 12 prior to the funeral.
