Condolence From: Jan Tietze Martin
Condolence: Dear Zamperetti Family,
I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of "Mr. Zamperetti," quite by accident visiting the Barry Funeral Home website! I was not aware that Rome became a part of his life. I had Mr. Zamperetti for Driver Ed at Lowville Academy during summer school, 1969. He was one of the most patient, kind and interesting teachers I have ever had! So much so, that I have continued to speak about him to others for decades. He was also quite a supporter of the feminist movement: When it came time for our group to learn how to change a tire, I was so proud that he asked the females to do it! I used those skills more than once in my life. What an impact on self-confidence that lesson left with me! I went on to have the confidence to attain a B.A., an M.A. and retire from a career as a high school teacher! I hope your memories of "Mr. Zamperetti" will comfort you and keep him alive in your hearts! Jan

Condolence: Hands down one of the best men I have been able to spend time with over the years. First as a principal while I was still in school and then a co-worker later on. He always gave the best advice and just had a way to make you feel important. Ill miss that smile and laugh of his the most! The world lost a truly special person. Thoughts and prayers with the family at this time.

Condolence: To all of the Zamperetti family, I will always remember Mr. Zamperetti as I was so scared of him because of his height and I was so short, I learned to look up to him. He was more than a princiPAL but a friend to many at LACS. He will always be remember as a gentle giant to me. I think my husband spent a lot of time in his office, but what a wonderful man. RIP Fred Zamparetti

Condolence From: Adirondack Central School Class of 1990
Condolence: To the Zamperetti family. We had the honor of having Mr. Zamperetti as our principal for most of our high school years at Adirondack. Upon his departure, the following "Farewell" was printed in our yearbook.
"We the Class of 1990 had the privilege for over three years of having Mr. Zamperetti as not only our principal but our friend as well. Adirondack has benefited greatly from his presence and he has left a mark that will not be forgotten. His countless hours of work and effort have not gone unnoticed and the dedication the students "might have overlooked" has now been acknowledged. We extend our greatest thanks to you, Mr.Zamperetti. You have earned our utmost respect and we the Class of 1990 wish you the best of luck, and hope that you have taken only the fondest of memories with you of your years at Adirondack. Thank you. Until we meet again!"
On behalf of the Class of 1990 twenty five years later, our sentiments remain the same...Godspeed Mr. Zamperetti.
