Joseph Charles Ellis, 56, of Rome, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, January 29, 2016. He was born on December 2, 1959 in Rome, NY, the son of Charles and Clara (Watson) Ellis.

On March 21, 1981, Joe married the love of his life, Wendy Dzwonkas, his high school sweetheart. They were blessed to spend 35 years building an incredible life together for themselves and their two children, Joselyn and Colin. Joe always said the best part of everyday was coming home to his wife Wendy.

Joe was especially proud of his twelve years of employment at Bonide Products, Inc. in Oriskany.

Joe was an avid photographer and terrific artist. He was the life of any party, known for his sense of humor. His love of music and passion for guitars has been handed down to his children and grandchildren. Joe's favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughters, Emma and Audrey.

Besides his wife, Joe is survived by his daughter, Joselyn and her husband, Joe (Waufle); his son, Colin and his wife, Erin; and two beautiful granddaughters, Emma and Audrey.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Joe’s life, on Monday at St. Peter’s Church at 4 PM.
