Sandra M. Tomasi, age 65, of Rome, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital.

Sandra was born in Utica, NY on June 12, 1951 to the late Leo K. and Genevieve Jozefowicz Lachut. She graduated from Poland Central School and Utica School of Commerce. She was a long-time employee at Gillette’s Market in Rome and most recently the Turning Stone Casino.

Sandra had fond memories of her childhood growing up on the family farm, was an avid reader, enjoyed her pets Sasha and Max and enjoyed the love of family and friends.
Sandra is survived by two brothers and sisters in law, Eugene and Barbara Lachut of Spencerport, NY, Ronald and Elaine Lachut of Poland, NY and several nieces and nephews. .

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 6 at St. John’s Church in Newport at 11 AM. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Diabetes Association in her memory would be appreciated.
