Jeanette E. (Luck) Golden, age 96, of Rome, passed away on December 27, 2016 at Colonial Park Nursing Home.
Jeanette was born in Rome on October 21, 1920 to the late Frank and Anna Sass Luck. She was married to Theodore Golden, who passed away in November of 1994. She was employed as a payroll clerk/office manager at the former S.S. Kresge store, which later became the Jupiter Store.
Jeanette was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She and Ted enjoyed many summers at Oneida Lake and leave behind wonderful memories shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter and son in law, Linda and Richard Weaver of Rome; her son and daughter in law, David and Janet Golden of Westborough, MA; three grandchildren, Julie Buckland, Craig Golden and his wife, Theresa, and Scott Golden; five great grandchildren, Cecelia and Hayes Buckland, and Camille, Maximo, and Maverick Golden; nieces, Barbara (Art) Smolinski of Rome, and Patricia Rogers of FL; nephews, Michael (Robin) Yaworski of Rome, Philip Abbuhl of OK, and Richard Abbuhl of TX. She was predeceased by a sister, Marion Yaworski; and two brothers, Edward and Frank Luck.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, on Thursday from 4 to 6 PM.
The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Park Nursing Home, Dr. Joel Amidon II, and Hospice for their wonderful care over the years.
