Condolence From: SMSgt Dennis Bevenour, USAF Ret
Condolence: RIP brother Phil. My condolences to the family. Words can not express my sorrow when I heard of Phil's passing and to say I was shocked would be an understatement. I remember the good times at K-Town like when Tommy would come over to play with Burt and Pat on the Nintendo. There are many more great memories but it would take pages to recall them all. I will say when I arrived at USFPS Phil was the one who helped me through those first days and when I received the Red Cross message about Pat, it was Phil who took the time to make sure I was okay and heading home. It was really nice reconnecting with Phil on the USFPS facebook site. It was like we never parted. Phil was a true comrade and more importantly, a true friend. I will miss him. Phil, until we meet again...

Condolence: I remembered when I first got to the station and I didn't have a clue. Phil was always very kind and took the time to help me learn what I needed to know and how to be a better cop. Seeing the names of others on this tribute wall is a testament to the impact he made on all our lives...Phil you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers, God bless.

Condolence: I met Phil on June 27th, 1987, at the 569th U.S. Forces Police, a joint Army/Air Force town patrol unit in Kaiserslautern, West Germany. We had very responsible work there, protecting 100,000 Americans from would-be evil doers, each-other, and sometimes themselves. Maybe too much weight for a lot of young people to carry. Phil was smarter than anyone else we knew. And he was calmer and more objective. He had wisdom beyond his chronological age, and to have him oversee you was comforting, and made you not just much better at what you do, but a better person. He didn't just see the positive side of a situation, he usually embraced all sides, and brought compassion and empathy with him. He would help you understand things that were subtle and not always in clear view. He made a real impact to how I approach some things. A man who many will sorely miss.

Condolence: RIP Brother. Simply one of the best cops I ever served with as well as being humble, intelligent, and always ready to break out the biggest smile you ever saw.

Condolence: I was a very young Army MP when I worked with Phil in Germany. I remember him as being funny and a Mentor to a lot of us "Army troops" as we figured out the job. He never treated us different. A Badge was a Badge. It was wonderful reconnecting with him on Face Book years later. His humor and compassion will be missed. Rest Easy, Brother.

Condolence: One of the BEST I ever served within the Air Force. Phil could always be counted on to offer sound guidance. I will never forget the day the house of my son's childcare provider caught fire (transformer). Phil heard my frustration as I was the on-duty Desk Sergeant and he immediately came up and relieved me so I could go check on my son.

RIP Phil. My greatest expressions of sorrow to the family.

Condolence: Phil was always such a friend, colleague, mentor and leader to so many of us who were fortunate enough to have served with him. His wit, dedication and devotion to country and those who served will never be replaced. Rest in peace dear friend. End of watch came far too soon for such an unforgettable man. I salute you Phil and will see you again when we come together again for remount.
