Margaret G. Roux, age 73, of Taberg, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2017, with her loving family at her side.
She was born June 7, 1944, in Utica, the daughter of the late Garth and Alice Cossey Gaylord, and graduated from Clinton High School. Margaret was united in marriage to Wayne J. Roux on June 14, 1964, in Clinton; a blessed marriage of 53 years. She was a long time hairdresser and also worked for several years as a Teacher Assistant at Rome Free Academy. She was a member of the Rome Christian Center.
Margaret cherished her time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an active volunteer for Hospice and Palliative Care and Care Net. In her free time, she was an avid reader and enjoyed many long conversations with her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Wayne; a daughter and son in law, Aimee and Michael McCanney of Palm Bay, FL; two sons and daughters in law, Marc and Mary Roux of Taberg, and Scott and Kerith Roux of Baldwinsville; and five cherished grandchildren, Ashely, Marissa, Amelia, Sophia and Kendall.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street. Burial will be in Lee Valley Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Thursday 5 to 7 PM.
