Obituary for Connor Arthur Lynskey

Connor Arthur Lynskey
Connor Arthur Lynskey, age 18, of Hinckley died August 11, 2018, as a result of a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident in the Town of Darien, Genesee County, New York.

He was born September 22, 1999, in New Hartford, a son of Michael A. and Donna K. Jones Lynskey. Connor graduated with honors from Holland Patent Central School and was currently a student at Siena College. Connor had already been accepted at Upstate Medical University MD program. He was an avid soccer player, runner and athlete. He loved the outdoors and truly adored his family. He was a member of St. Leo and St. Ann Church in Holland Patent.

Connor was a very active student during his years at Holland Patent Central School. He was an honor student for all his years, class president and captain of the high school soccer team.

Connor is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Donna, a sister, Meghan C. Lynskey; a brother, Michael A. Lynskey, Jr.; his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Jones of Whitesboro; and paternal grandparents, William C. and Carol Lynskey. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Charles (Deborah) Lynskey, Theresa Lynskey, Janice Jamrosz, Donald Lynskey (Bruce), David Jones (John), Deborah (Bob) Gaffney, Doug Jones, Dawn Gaffney, Diane (Gary) Moran, and dozens of beloved cousins. He also leaves special friends Gregory Lynskey, Manuel Zevallos Villaneuva, Joshua Brunet, Max Labuis, Chase Cole, Jacob Storsberg, and Hunter Richard.

Connor aspired to become a doctor so that he could help others and serve his community. His outgoing, kind, caring and humorous personality and smile lit up a room, and he will be greatly missed by his numerous friends and loving family.

The family wishes to thank the law enforcement personnel involved in the investigation, including the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff Rich Schildwaster, the New York State Park Police, Officers Bastine and Nesbitt, and New York State Ranger Joe.

A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Rev. Vincent Long, will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM, at St. Leo and St. Ann Church in Holland Patent. Burial will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Hinckley at a later date.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Leo and St. Ann Church Thursday, 12 noon to 3 PM, prior to the funeral mass.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street, Rome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the “Connor Arthur Lynskey Memorial Scholarship Fund” c/o Bruce Daniels, Esq., 23 Oxford Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413.
